Sheila Hahn

Senior Attorney

Sheila T. Starkey Hahn is a Senior Attorney with Serotte Law and a seasoned immigration practitioner with more than 25 years of experience across all areas of U.S. immigration law. Prior to joining the firm, Sheila maintained a highly respected solo practice for over two decades, representing individuals, families, and employers in complex immigration matters. At Serotte Law, she is an integral member of the business immigration and PERM teams, where she brings deep institutional knowledge and strategic insight to employment-based cases. 

In addition to her legal practice, Sheila has served as an Adjunct Professor at State University of New York at Fredonia, where she taught a Legal Environment of Business course. 

Sheila received her Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School and her Bachelor of Arts from the University at Buffalo. She is admitted to the Virginia Bar and has long been a leader within the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Her national leadership roles include service on AILA’s National Political Engagement Committee (SCOPE) and Past Chair of the Client Resources and Pro Bono Committees. 

A passionate advocate for vulnerable populations, Sheila has traveled to New Mexico and Dilley, Texas to provide pro bono representation to detained Central American asylum seekers. In recognition of her service at the southern border, she received the Michael Maggio Pro Bono Award in 2018. She was also named Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year for Immigration Law in Western New York in 2022 by Best Lawyers and U.S. News & World Report, and has been consistently recognized among Best Lawyers in America for Immigration Law.
